How to Post Pictures

Pick out a photograph that you would like to use and open it with your editing software.

Crop the picture to 4 X 6 inch size.

Make sure the format is JPG, the resolution is 72 pixels per inch, the longest side is 400 pixels and that you preserve the aspect ratio (or proportions are constrained).

If you can, open the photo in a program like Photoshop that can save it in a format compatible for the Web. That makes the size of the picture smaller without making it look worse. In Photoshop I select "Save for Web" under the File menu.

Then go to the Peru web page and click on "Create your own post." The address for the web site is: "http://peru-2007.blogspot.com/"

Click on the picture icon in the upper left corner of the box next to the "ABC" icon.

Click on the "choose file" button.

Select the picture you want using the dialog box. When your picture finishes uploading you will get a message saying that the image has been added. Click the button that says "done" and you will come back to the Upload Images window where you should now see the name of your picture. Select the layout button "left" and the image size button "medium," then click "upload image." You will then be back in the "create post" window.

Add your title then click on "Preview" in the upper right corner to see what it looks like. You should see your picture.

Type in your post.

Check spelling by clicking on the "ABC" icon. See how things look at any time by clicking "preview."

When you are ready, click "publish post" and the finished result will be put on the weblog.

Keep your eye out for comments that people may add to your post. They can be added at the bottom. Let me know if you have any questions or problems. Just write me by putting a comment below. All comments are automatically emailed to me. Good luck.
